Abrasive Scouring Pad: Overview
The pad is a non-woven web with silicon carbide grit bonded through it. Silicon carbide is hard enough to cut scale and rust rather than polish over them.
The open structure is what separates a pad from a coated abrasive sheet: water, soap and swarf pass through the weave and are rinsed away, so the surface stays sharp.
Pads are supplied in packs, and the size and shape are matched to the job: flat pads for pans and worktops, strips for grout lines and edges.

Using an Abrasive Pad
Kitchen and pans
Soak burnt pans first, then work with the pad and a little detergent. The grit does the work: pressure only wears the pad out faster and marks softer surfaces.
